# How Credits Work

> Credits are the currency of AIHDStudio. Each AI generation costs credits. Here's exactly how it works.

## What are credits?

Credits are consumed each time you run an AI generation in AIHDStudio. Think of them as generation tokens — one generation = a set number of credits deducted from your balance.

Your credit balance is always visible in the top navigation bar.

## Credit costs by tool

| AI Room Designer       | 2 credits              |
| Art on Wall Visualizer | 2 credits              |
| Layout Ideas           | 2 credits              |
| UGC Studio             | 2 credits              |
| Wall Color Changer     | 1 credit               |
| Product Finder         | 1 credit               |
| Design Planner         | **Free** — no credits  |

## When are credits deducted?

Credits are deducted **when a generation starts**, not when it completes. If a generation fails due to a technical error, your credits are refunded automatically.

## Free credits

New accounts receive a starter credit allowance to try the tools. The exact amount is shown when you sign up.

## Running out of credits

When your balance hits 0:

* A prompt appears to upgrade your plan or purchase more credits
* The Design Planner remains accessible — it never requires credits
* Any in-progress generations complete normally

## Credit balance

Your current balance is always shown in the navigation bar. You can also check it in **Settings → Your Plan**.
